Adding a Calendar device

A Calendar device can be used to automatically launch a Task at a certain hour on specific days or dates.

Open the Devices panel and click on the button to add a device.

In the pop-up window’s search dialog, type Calendar and add a Calendar device.

Select the GO Castle 1 task and drag & drop the Calendar device into the Trigger field.

An interface appears enabling you to set the days of the week and the hour when the Task should be launched.

Enable the Calendar option.

Two additional selection boxes appear enabling you to set a start date and an end date to this trigger.

Conclusion

This tutorial has highlighted the advanced features of Kinetic Designer to perform show studies and to efficiently perform architectural mapping using the 3D mapping option.

The setup in this tutorial involved only one output and only one projector but Kinetic Designer is specifically designed to scale very easily.

The steps performed here can be repeated on any number of outputs and any number of V-Nodes in more complex setups to create stunning mapping shows on all types of architecture.

Kinetic’s Online action automatically synchronizes each V-Node with the content it needs to play, and the settings required to do so.

Furthermore, by creating the show study directly from within Kinetic Designer, many elements of the 3D scene are already created which shortens the workflow for the 3D mapping process.

The only requirement is to have an accurate 3D model of the structure being mapped.
