We’ll see how to create presets to automatically position media in the proper portion of the Render Surface
Creating Filters
In the Media List
panel, select the Light Rain 1 media and in the Editor
panel open the Filter
tab.
Notice the
Preset applied
field is set to None.
Click on the Edit Preset
tab and click on New preset
.
Tick the Enable default position option.
Four fields appear to set the X/Y positions and anchor points for this filer.
Set the X position to 1920.
Click on the rename
button and name the preset Background.
In the Media List
panel, select all the media you would like to set in the background and in the Preset
tab apply the Background preset.
Now these media will automatically be created in the timelines at position X: 1920.
Notice these filters also enable you to toggle media ON/OFF or AUTO in the V-Nodes of your project.
Filters can be used to force media to be cached in your V-Nodes.
In larger setups this can be required to ensure the V-Node has cached the media required for your show.
Enhancing the show
The media kit contains some more media that haven’t been used so far.
Using what you have learned so far enhance the Cube and Background timelines – making use of all the media – and make sure you are confortable with the basics of timeline creation in Kinetic Designer.
