In the previous step, our semicircle and Pi Letter X-Maps were not usable because they did not fit the curves of these shapes correctly.
When importing a PSD file to automatically create the X-Maps, each map has a mask applied to it.
The mask can be visualized in theMask
subtab of theAdvanced
tab.
Importing the PSD file
Delete or disable the previously created Output.
Click the and select Import from PSD.
Select the PSD file from the list and untick the Filter Map outside option.
The Photoshop files respect a specific nomenclature to be understood and imported in Kinetic Designer.
For more information, refer to the guidelines for PSD creation or the X-Map manual page.
Switch each X-Map to Keystone mode and warp it on its corresponding shape.
If necessary, switch the X-Map into Curve mode and add rows and columns to map the shape.
Last, warp the Background X-Map to the back of the mapping box.
With the patterns or with some media on your timeline, notice that the masks applied on the X-Maps of the semicircle and the Pi Letter correctly follow the complexity of the shape.
