In this second exercise we will introduce the use of the Warp and X-Map features of Kinetic Designer.

We will assume that you have followed the Start Project tutorial and that you are now familiar with the basic actions covered.

We will learn to:

  • Project a media on 3 sides of a cube using a classic warp grid.
  • Manually create X-Maps to map more accurately
  • Import a photoshop (PSD) file to automatically import X-Maps.
  • Add a projection background using X-Maps.

Required equipment:

  • 1x pico projector
  • 1x mapping box
  • 1x foam cube
  • Media kit and the PSD template file.

Place the cube in the center of the mapping box close to the back of the box, the projector should project on the entire cube but also on the full width of the back of the mapping box.
