Description

Motion Sensor Phidget Preview

The Motion Sensor Phidget (ID: 2002_0) detects motion by measuring variations in infrared radiation within its 70° field of view. It can detect movement up to 10 meters away, making it suitable for identifying the presence of people or animals.

When no motion is detected, the sensor outputs a stable voltage. Movement causes the voltage to increase or decrease, with larger changes occurring when motion occupies more of the sensor’s field of view.

The sensor includes an automatic re-calibration mechanism: objects that stop moving inside the detection zone will no longer trigger output changes until they begin moving again.

Task action

This device has no actions that can be launched from a Task.

Task trigger

Trigger a Task according to the incoming value using one of the comparison operators:

  • >
  • <
  • =
  • Range

You can also configure a hysteresis value to prevent false triggering when the incoming value fluctuates around the threshold.

Example

You use the > condition with a threshold of 0.5 and set a hysteresis value of 0.1.

  • When the incoming value first reaches 0.5, the Task is triggered.
  • If the value then drops slightly to 0.45 and rises back to 0.5, the Task is not triggered again.
  • Only if the value drops below 0.4 (threshold − hysteresis) and then rises back to 0.5 will the Task trigger once more.

This prevents rapid re-triggering caused by small variations near the threshold.

Digimap trigger

Use the detected luminosity as an Input for Digimap.

User interface

This Device can be added to any user panel. Available controls depend on the panel configuration.
