• Go to the Live timeline.
  • Drag & drop the NDI media Player1.
  • Scale it down to 60% and position it on the right part of the main screen.
  • In the Editor panel, in the Advanced tab, subtab Border tick Enable and set the Size to 50.
  • In the subtab Soft Crop tick Enable and for each value (Left, Right, Top, Bottom) set the Length to 100.

Now we’ll animate the position of this layer :

  • In the Timeline, open the layer’s properties and set the Player head at timecode 00:00:01:00.
  • Activate the keyframes on the position.
  • Set the Player head at timecode 00:00:03:00 and move the position so the media is on the left part of the main screen.
  • Set the Player head at timecode 00:00:05:00 and input the same position as the first key frame.
  • Add a Command layer and add two Pause commands for the first two keyframes, and a Loop command for the last keyframe.

Now let’s change the color of the border while the PiP si changing it’s position :

  • In the Timeline, open the layer’s properties and set the Player head at timecode 00:00:01:00.
  • Activate the keyframes on the border.
  • In the Editor panel, Advanced tab, Border subtab set the R to 255 and both the G and B values to 0.
  • Set the Player head at timecode 00:00:03:00 and set the B value to 255 and the other values to 0.
  • Set the Player head at timecode 00:00:05:00 and set the R value to 255 and the other values to 0.

Now let’s use a Task to play this PiP :

Create the following tasks :

  • PiP Right position : set the Grand Master of the Live timeline at 0 then move the reader head to the PiP Right position then put back the Grand Master to 100.
  • PiP Left position : same mechanic as the previous task but using the timecode where the PiP is on the left of the screen.
  • PiP moves : will play the timeline so the position will get animated.
  • PiP OFF : set the Grand Master of the Live timeline at 0.

These Tasks can be launched directly from the Timeline SHOW, just by drag & droping them from the Task tab into the Command layer.
