As we did before for the audio level, we could create many tasks to change the value of the DMX channel.
But, let’s see how we can use Variables instead.

Integer variable to adjust the channel(s) value(s)

  • Open the Variables window
  • Click on + and add a Integer that you rename UI light intensity
  • Add tasks to set the value of the variable: 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, 20%, 0%

Time variable to adjust channel(s) time transition(s)

  • Open the Variables window
  • Click on + and add a Integer that you rename UI light intensity
  • Add tasks to set the time of the variable: 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s

Assign the Variable value to a subtask

  • Rename task Front light 100% to Front Light intensity %, and Back light 100% to Back Light intensity %
  • Select the task Front Light intensity %
  • Select the subtask
  • Drag & drop the variable UI light intensity into the Value field in the Editor tab
  • Do the same for the task Back Light intensity %

We will see later how to adjust the Variable value in the User Interface.
