Toggle the V-Node ‘Online’

In the V-Nodes tab, right-click on your V-Node and select Start.

The indicator should turn from red to orange.
Note that the V-Node was already started in a previous step and may still be running, in which case this action has restarted the server-side application.

Right-click on the V-Node again and select Online.

The indicator should turn from orange to green.
The V-Node is now online and ready to display.

Explanation

When the V-Node(s) are toggled online in a project, they will synchronize with the show running in the Designer and, if necessary, cache all the media affected to them via their Render Surface.

Once Online, the V-Node stays synchronized with the Designer and every showcontrol command (play/pause on timelines, ON/OFF timelines, etc) – whether manually input by an operator or automated via tasks – will also be run on the V-Node and on its displays.

In the previous tutorial, we also covered that filters can be used to force the caching of some media into specific V-Nodes which is sometimes necessary in more complex setups if the sync process cannot automatically determine that a media will be played in a certain V-Node.
