This tab lists any dimensions that were created in the current3D scene.

These dimensions are not present in the Hierarchy tab.

Dimensions can be created from within the 3D Viewer panel by using the Dimensions tool.

When using this tool, a yellow square will appear around the cursor’s position to place the first point of measurement.

Once clicked, a second point can be placed to create a dimension that will be displayed in the 3D Viewer and appear in the Dimensions tab in the 3D Scenes tab.


Options


When using the Dimensions tool, the following options are available in the top part of the 3D Viewer panel:

Option Description
Snap Select between None (free placement), Vertex or Bounding Box to constrain the placement of the dimension points
Constrain Toggle to constrain placing the points along the X, Y or Z axes

In addition, the box displays the Position of the current yellow square as well as the last measure that was taken.


Properties


Once a dimension has been created in the 3D Viewer panel, it appears in the Dimensions tab and when selected, the following options are available in the Editor panel:

Parameter Description
Name Change the name of the dimension in the list in the Dimensions tab
Size An indication of the dimension measured. This value cannot be modified manually.
Start Coordinates for the starting point of the dimension. These can be modified.
End Coordinates for the ending point of the dimension. These can be modified.
Prefix A text can be added to prefix the dimension label in the 3D Viewer
Label offset Offset coordinates for the label in the 3D Viewer
Line size Size of the line drawing the dimension
Font size Size of the font used in the label
Font color Color of the font used in the label
Background color Color of the label’s background
Background alpha Transparency value for the label
Ignore depth Toggle to ignore depth values when drawing the dimension. This draws the dimension above other objects when active.
